Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Supervise and manage daily drilling operations and rig activities.
- Ensure implementation of well control procedures and safe work practices.
- Plan and oversee rig moves, crew activities, and operational execution.
- Act as the company representative on-site, maintaining coordination with the client and Drilling Superintendent.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to rig crews.
- Enforce safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company management systems (QHSE, DOP, SM).
- Lead emergency response, including well control, evacuation, and incident management.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure training compliance for all personnel.
- Ensure all rig equipment and systems operate within safe and optimal parameters.
- Oversee inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain inventory control of assets, consumables, and materials.
- Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reports (including IADC reports).
- Monitor budget, resource utilization, and documentation compliance.
- Ensure proper communication and handover between shifts and departments.
- Support well planning activities including casing, cementing, and drilling calculations.
- Monitor downhole conditions and ensure appropriate operational responses.
- Interpret technical data, gauges, and reports to optimize drilling performance.
- Oversee camp standards, medical support, communications, and living conditions on site.
Minimum Requirments:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- A valid IWCF Certificate, (Level 4).
- 8 years of experience.
