Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Support and supervise drilling operations on behalf of the Rig Superintendent, ensuring compliance with company procedures, well control policies, and industry standards.
  • Assist in supervising casing, cementing, well testing, and specialized operations such as fishing, coring, and stuck pipe activities.
  • Ensure proper well control practices are maintained and respond effectively during emergency situations, including well control incidents, fire, and H2S events.
  • Support planning and supervision of rig moves, including rig-up, rig-down, and camp operations.
  • Assist in implementing and supervising preventive and planned maintenance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
  • Monitor rig equipment performance, ensuring operational limits and parameters are adhered to.
  • Support inspection, testing, and maintenance of equipment and systems, including safety-critical equipment and structural integrity.
  • Recommend equipment repairs, spare parts, and operational improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Support the Tool Pusher in overseeing operations, and provide leadership in their absence.
  • Supervise and guide supervisors and crew, ensuring tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in crew training, certification, and performance evaluation.
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with QHSE policies, procedures, and company standards.
  • Maintain clear communication across teams and ensure proper execution of instructions and reporting.
  • Assist in supervising camp conditions, ensuring proper hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
  • Support preparation of casing and cementing programs and assist in operational planning.
  • Perform well control calculations (pressures, volumes, mud weight, pump strokes, etc.).
  • Interpret downhole conditions and respond accordingly to maintain safe operations.
  • Review and interpret gauges, instruments, and technical data for operational decision-making.
  • Assist in maintaining logs, records, and operational reports as required by the company and client.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • General education diploma with 10 years of experience.  
  • Valid IWCF Level (4).
