Description:
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Perform all duties safely and professionally in compliance with company procedures and maintain daily inspections and accurate records.
- Prepare, mix, and maintain drilling fluids (mud/brine) in accordance with instructions from the Mud Engineer.
- Monitor and maintain mud system parameters, including mud weight, viscosity, and pit levels, promptly reporting any changes to the Driller or Mud Engineer.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the mud system, including pits, transfer systems, and chemical mixing equipment.
- Handle mud transfers between pits and ensure proper fluid circulation during drilling and tripping operations.
- Maintain and operate mud-related equipment such as degasser, desander, desilter, valves, and conditioning systems.
- Conduct basic testing of drilling fluids, calculate pit volumes, and maintain logs of mud properties and chemical usage.
- Monitor trip tank volumes and identify discrepancies, reporting potential risks such as influx/kick indicators immediately.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the mud tank area and related equipment.
- Support rig operations and assist drilling crew as required, including coordination with roustabouts for mud mixing activities.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs for the mud system (excluding shale shakers) and ensure equipment readiness.
- Carry out shift handovers effectively and report operational status, conditions, and changes to supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe, efficient, and continuous rig operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- General education diploma with 4 years of experience.
